CONCERTS

In April 1908, Orchestra of Russian TRANS-AMUR Railway Corps Brigade played «1812» Overture of Tchaikovsky in Harbin, it was the first symphony concert in the history of China. Later, orchestra was renamed to Chinese Eastern Railway Club Symphony Orchestra, it included Russians musicians, this contributed to development of future Harbin Symphony Orchestra.

Muhai Tang, world-renowned Chinese maestro of conducting, winner of various prestigious international awards in particular the 2004 Grammy Award of America, the 2006 German “Echo-Klassik” Award, the 2017 Italian International Opera Award (Oscar della Lirica) and the 2020 German “OPUS KLASSIK” Award. He is the only Chinese conductor who has won such awards in this century.

Bo Qu

General Manager of Harbin Concert Hall and Director of Harbin Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Bo Qu started his musical study at a young age, is a graduate from the Orchestra Department of Shanghai Conservatory majoring in Bassoon. He served in the propaganda team of the Beijing Military Region, then successively worked as the principal bassoonist and deputy director of the Harbin Opera House Symphony Orchestra (formerly Harbin Symphony Orchestra,HSO); the general manager of Harbin Lilac Concert Hall; the director and commissioner of the Foreign Cultural Liaison Office of the Harbin Cultural Bureau.
